Career Counseling

Career Exploration

The Student Services Team will work with each student to help them explore potential future careers. As a part of our effort, we will have students set up an account on the Career Cruising website, which will allow them to identify careers that match the interests and skills, learn about those careers through up-to-date career-profiles, and explore colleges that offer programs in their areas of interest.

Internships

internships are an integral part of the Escondido Charter High School curriculum, enabling students to participate in structured, supervised learning experiences both on and off campus. High school internships provide a valuable opportunity for students to experience a chosen career prior to committing to a specific major in college. In addition, internships offer students a chance to create important professional networks. These networks can provide insider access to mentors, future summer jobs, and other opportunities previously unavailable to the student.

Work Permits

Except in limited circumstances defined in law and summarized in the child labor law booklet, all minors under 18 years of age employed in the state of California must have a permit to work. For information on how to obtain a work permit, click here.
