Our Successes

At Escondido Charter High School, we measure success not just by standardized test scores, but by the ability of our students to tackle real-world challenges and remain competitive in an increasingly difficult academic environment. Our students are not just prepared to enter the best universities in the country - they are prepared to flourish once they get there. In addition to academics, we also gauge our success on parent satisfaction and demand. From the earliest days of our charter, we have grown steadily and now serve over 800 students.

Fundamental Knowledge

We believe strongly in the value of foundational knowledge, and have seen the positive influence that this approach has on our students. Great Books, academic writing, fundamental math and science skills, western thought and American heritage form the foundation of our curriculum. As students progress from elementary to junior high to high school, they build on this solid foundation and develop the deeper critical-thinking and problem-solving skills they will need in college and in life.

"Being a part of American Heritage Charter Schools is like being a part of a family. Every day when my children go to school, I know they are getting the very best education, the best teachers and staff, a safe environment, and a great school experience." - Kristene Hanson, Parent

College Preparedness

Virtually all of our students meet graduation requirements and 97% go on to college. Our top graduates have been accepted to such esteemed universities as MIT, Cal Tech, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Georgetown, Brown, USC, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, Pepperdine, Stanford, Vassar, Notre Dame, BYU, Liberty University, and many others.

Character Counts

Education is not just about academics, it is also about character. At American Heritage Charter Schools we cultivate character at every grade level. We believe in the virtues of honesty, modesty, and compassion, and we encourage the development of the traditional values of hard work, integrity, and personal responsibility.

“I have learned that the "best" is not just what's in books and in grades. It's more. It's the relationships and the partnering of teachers and parents. It's the cultivation of the whole person." - Eleni Yphantides, Parent

Leadership/Service

Along with building character, we seek to prepare our students to be community leaders and to contribute to society through compassionate service. Our students learn, at an early age that helping others is important. By the time they get to Escondido Charter High School, they are providing over 8,000 hours of community service every year and many continue to volunteer in their community after graduation.

“Heritage Flex has been life changing for our family and children. Our kids will be forever changed because of this school. Thank you Heritage Flex!” - Heather Brown, Parent
