Enrollment Lottery

TRADITIONAL LEARNING LOTTERY APPLICATION     FLEX LEARNING LOTTERY APPLICATION

As a part of the California public school system, Escondido Charter High School is excited to open its doors to all interested students. It is our goal to provide each parent with educational choice. With interest in ECHS at an all-time high, our school is currently receiving more requests for enrollment than we can accept. To ensure fairness in our selection process, ECHS follows state and local guidelines, which require us to hold a lottery whenever the number of applicants we receive exceeds our capacity. Applicants will be selected solely on the basis of the lottery results, in accordance with established priorities.

Please note that the Traditional Learning and Flex Learning options hold two different lotteries. You will need to select the appropriate lottery application button for the program you have chosen. Those who are interested in the Flex One-to-One option do not need to apply for the lottery. Please contact our Intake Coordinator, Judy Brooks, directly at jbrooks@echs.org

Students who live within the Escondido Union High School District boundaries will be given priority in the lottery. At the time you apply, you will be required to submit two forms of proof of residence, so we can determine whether or not you will be given priority status.

To apply for the lottery, please click on the appropriate lottery application button above, and fill out the online application. For Traditional Learning, use the “Traditional Learning Lottery Application” button. For Flex Learning, use the “Flex Learning Lottery Application” button. Once the online application is completed, please email your scanned proof of residence documents to the Enrollment Coordinator, Judy Brooks, at jbrooks@echs.org

Flex Learning Lottery Dates

  • The lottery application period opens on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
  • The lottery application period closes on Tuesday, March 6, 2018.

If your student does not receive a low-enough lottery number to be admitted to the school at this time, his/her name will be placed on a wait list (in the order in which his/her name was drawn). That wait list will be used to fill any vacancies that may occur during the school year.

Providing the highest level of service is important to us. Our Enrollment Coordinator, Judy Brooks, will be available to assist you as you navigate through this process. Judy Brooks can be reached at:
